Edge-Centric Digital Twin Framework for Cyberattack Simulation and Response Modeling in Smart Grids

The increasing integration of digital and communication technologies in power systems has made smart grids a crucial part of modern infrastructure. However, this interconnectedness has also exposed them to a growing number of cyber threats. Traditional cybersecurity approaches often struggle to keep up with evolving attack vectors, necessitating more adaptive and real-time threat mitigation strategies. Digital Twin (DT) technology, combined with edge computing, presents a promising approach to enhancing smart grid security by enabling real-time cyberattack simulation and response modeling. This thesis aims to explore an edge-centric DT framework for improving the resilience of smart grids against cyber threats.
